TRAVEL TO HYDRA FROM ATHENS AIRPORT
Helicopter Transport from Athens
Athens Airport (Fly) – Kivotos Islet (helicopter) – Hydra (sea taxi)
If you want to get to Hydra in the shortest time, you can book a helicopter.
AirLift is one of the helicopter companies , they collect you from airport arrivals, escort you to the helicopoter and liaise with a sea taxi to ensure that when you land on the rocky islet of Kivotos (200m off the beach in Molos Bay), your sea taxi is there ready to run you along the coast into Hydra harbour. Cost for 4 people is approximately €1,900 plus the sea taxi fee (about €40 payable direct to the sea taxi). Helicoper flight is approximately 30 mins, sea taxi ride 3-5 mins.

Drive from Athens Airport to Metochi ( mainland opposite Hydra)
By limousine/minibus ( for 8 people plus) around €250 or taxi (4 people), around €200.
Drive to Metochi – Park – Hydra (passenger ferry or water taxi)
From anywhere on the mainland, whether by taxi or with a hire car, you can drive to the secure car park at Metochi, leave your car with complete confidence and continue onto Hydra by sea taxi or on one the passenger ferries, about twenty minutes journey.
Catamarans and Flying Dolphins
Express Bus (€6.50 per person, single ticket) or Taxi (4 passengers plus luggage €50) from Athens airport to Piraeus, approximately one hour.
Hellenic Seaways operate flying dolphin hydrofoils and catamarans to Hydra (approx €30 per person single ticket).
TRAVEL BETWEEN HYDRA AND MAINLAND (METOCHI)
Regular seabus service .For timetable consult www.hydra.com.gr or call Port Police on tel +(30) 22980 52279. Water taxis are at the dockside all day and night. No pre-booking required except for late night and Metochi pickups. Please note all water taxis are for one group of up to 8 persons and are not shared. They can be booked in advance if required.
